Daft Punk and friends visit the Cantina

Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, David Beckahm and Snoop swing by the Star Wars Cantina before World Cup kick off. I could whinge out about George Lucas selling out to the ad men and destroying the Star Wars brand in the process but Lucas kind of did that himself with his last three, god-awful, cash churning, merchandise spewing and shite Star Wars films. Enjoy it geeks (I did)
Flushed, Football & Fool’s Gold

DJ set / live performance on the night from Brooklyn based Fool’s Gold signing SAMMY BANANAS / TELEPHONED.
Flushed, Footy, Fools Gold & Free Entry. We’ll see you there.
Mp3s? We prefer home made synths

As London drudges through a mid-summer downpour, Breton’s filthy indie electro geekery becomes the perfect soundtrack. How near genius is this? Breton’s sharing notes EP is being released with a printed circuit board, which can be built into a synth as shown in the video below. Something for a rainy day.
For more information, release date and a general gig guide check Breton’s MySpace here.
Cocosuma ‘The Jar’

New Wave meets New Young Pony club with a touch of ETBTG as Cocosuma hit the blogosphere. Stripped down grooves from the original and some oh so killer remixes (Check the Clap Rules Remix and it’s last minute 8 bit nonsense – we like!)
The Jar has casually marched into the front of the Push Music record box so expect some Blondie style shaking from those hipster kids over the next month or so (Plus the video has an early Michel Gondry feel so overall feelings of joy coming the Cocosuma way)

Stag and Dagger 2010

East London’s answer to the Camden Crawl got a little bigger and better this year with more venues, more DJ’s and more kool kids celebrating all things rave. Push Music we’re lucky enough to spin in the Queen of Hoxton before the Filthy Dukes got sweat dripping of the walls downstairs. It gets a bit blurry after 2am but flashbacks include a rammed Legion giving away free shots, Simian Mobile disco rocking a car park, getting lost in Hearne Street offices and being politely asked to leave the Macbeth as one of our party had fallen asleep at the bar.
Roll on 2011.
93 & Sessions…

A few days late on this but I need to mention the serious fun from last weekend. Push Music played a rammed gig at 93 Feet East’s 90 Free Fridays (Soon to be re-launched as Flushed) Stage dancing, a main room set from Push Music and London’s best new bands make up East London’s busy monthly party. We’re back on the 18th June – I’m thinking football, beers, disco and dancing from the Flushed residents.
Saturday we hit Matt Horne’s Session 14 with a stand out new-disco set from Paul Epworth at a sweaty Sessions sell out. (Roll on the grand unveiling of the Queen Of Hoxton’s rooftop for some Summer night Indie/Electro nonsense) Obviously I’m biased but can’t recommend Sessions enough. Check out their website for more details.
I’ve been a bit slack on self motivation side of blogging but more content, more mixes, more gigs and more updates on what we’re up to over Summer will be updated on the regular from now on. Content is king.
