New Talent – Swimming and Hyetal

Us Brits are well known for our pioneering spirit, groundbreaking music, and cultural heritage. Subculture are bringing you our next generation of trailblazers, shot beautifully in intimate surroundings. Take these 2 bands for example, captured right at the pivotal point in their careers, these clips are a snapshot of the best of new British talent that’s blowing up this summer.

Swimming ‘Mining For Diamonds’ Big tense buildups, skewed melodies and moments of heavy electronics underpin their sound.

Hyetal ‘Phoenix’ One of the UK’s most inspired producers of the moment. The debut album took the UK bass scene in new directions, and critical acclaim ensued…

Bands in Transit: Bombay Bicycle Club

Bands In Transit with Ford is incredibly excited to announce a live streamed acoustic performance by Bombay Bicycle Club, taking place next Tuesday, August 9th, at 1:30pm via www.bandsintransit.com

The Bands In Transit van will be rolling into a secret location where Bombay Bicycle Club will be performing acoustic versions of tracks from their brand new third album ‘A Different Kind of Fix’. In a little over three years Bombay Bicycle Club have released three LPs – an extraordinary and increasingly rare feat in the 21st century music industry. From the teenage indie kicks of their debut ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’; to the sparse, timeless folk of last summer’s top ten album, ‘Flaws’ (nominated for an Ivor Novello Award); the quartet open a new and beguiling chapter with, ‘A Different Kind of Fix’, one that cements their place at the very forefront of British bands in 2011.

To view the performance, visit www.bandsintransit.com

“A Different Kind of Fix” will be released through Island Records on 29th August. The album’s first single ‘Shuffle’ is currently available on iTunes and has a killer Balearic remix from Leo Zero

Kitsuné round up

Not suprisingly, things are all go Paris side. Here’s a quick round up:

Shindu Happy House

The three members of Shindu are bursting onto the scene for the release of their first EP “Happy House” on June 27th on Kitsuné
Out of the dark and into the blue, two boys and a girl from Belgium collide to create Shindu, a refreshing synth-pop sensation that embodies the challenge to take music into the dawn of a new era !

Happy House is a brilliant and modern cover of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ classic, the band paying great tribute to their love of late 80s electronica and atmospherics. As for the remixes, performed by Herr Styler, Midnight Savari, Polydor, Jerry Bouthier and Martians.

Peter & the MagicianTwist EP

The union between Yuksek and ex-Aeroplane The Magician gave birth to the explosive duo Peter & The Magician whose first single will be out on Kitsuné on June 20th
Peter and The Magician’s project was first imagined in a studio of the French city of Reims. Both members were highly motivated by a desire to share their experiences and most of all, to find a way to mix their own musical style into a new one.

The title track “Twist” is already available in Kitsuné Maison 11 and has encountered such a huge success among DJs from around the world and electro lovers that it has often been said to be one of the biggest hits of the summer to come! As for the two other tracks, “La Fiorentina” and “Love In Rimini”, they are pretty excellent tributes to their love for Italy.
